You've heard of The Backrooms, you've seen The Poolrooms, but what about The Pumpkin Backrooms?

What if there were a backrooms where there the walls were an obnoxious orange? And it led to a set of poolrooms that had orange water with pumpkin seeds floating around. And that led to, well...you get the gist. 

Use your mouse and keyboard to slowly make your way through the tortuously orange halls of level 0. Follow the writing on the walls, whoever wrote it, you can trust them...

Enjoy this mini walking simulator, and watch your back, you may not be the only think roaming The Pumpkin Backrooms.

The Backrooms 

The Poolrooms:

I have always been a fan of the backrooms; I still remember when I first watched a video on it and was terrified that I would no clip through a wall and never see my family again. So, when I needed a change in game concept, I automatically knew what I would go with! I love a good walking simulator that lulls you into a false sense of security with how calm and boring it seems, only to rip that comfort away. 

What also influenced my decision to make this game was the poolrooms game/level that released recently. It was such a beautiful, creepy, but fun game, and it honestly sealed the deal.

Little Nightmares

Inside

For my initial concept I was heavily inspired by Little Nightmares and Inside. These two game practically raised me, so I really wanted to make of game of their essence, my game concept ended changing, but these two games were still in mind as I made this level.

Early Concepts: 

My idea for the game was originally a platformer featuring a little girl that had been sucked into a creepy haunted mansion. The girl would have to collect magic bits in order to progress and defeat the little pumpkin 'rats' that would be wondering around. 

Due to time constraints and (mainly) the rise in poolroom games, I decided to change my game concept and core loop. Though this was created for my Game Development final project, I do hope and plan to add more levels to this game, the next one being my own spin on the poolrooms!
